Middle College High School 21-22:
Milpitas Union School District opened its Milpitas Middle College High School (MMCHS) located at the Extension. Middle colleges are high schools that blend high school and college courses as a way for students to fulfill their high school graduation requirements and earn college units along one of three academic pathways:
Education & Social Work
Medical & Related Fields
Tech & Entrepreneurship
Dual Enrollment Program:
Milpitas High School and Calaveras Hills High School students take SJCC college courses beginning in the 11th grade as part as their high school period(s). Our program serves supplemental high school students (ESL, low SEL, and foster) and other at-opportunity high school students in addition to AP students. We developed a two-year IGETC pathway and Technest pathway, which allows the students to graduate high school with at least 24 transferable general education units.
Math Summer Jam:
SJCC offers three levels of developmental math courses dedicated to MUSD students during the summer at no charge. This program is intended for students who wish to accelerate (skip) into their next math course or those who wish to 'preview' their courses in order to improve their grades.
The Milpitas Promise:
As part of SJCC’s College Promise program, MUSD high school graduates are able to enroll at SJCC through the Milpitas Promise Program.
Benefits of the program include:
No tuition or fees
Additional academic and personal support
Guided pathways that lead to a degree that leads to career and/or transfer
